Call for Nominations Is Open For The Aviation Week 20 Twenties Award

Help Aviation Week in identifying and honouring 20 university students who
are on track to create the future of the industry.

The 20 Twenties program recognizes talented individuals in their twenties that are currently enrolled in a baccalaureate or master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) program who are on course to change the face of the aerospace and defense industry.

Winners will be recognised in March 2020 at the 20 Twenties Awards Luncheon,
and at Aviation Week’s Laureates Gala in Washington, D.C. They will receive free students’ memberships to AIAA, as well as a free digital subscription to Aviation Week & Space Technology. In addition, they will be highlighted in Aviation Week & Space Technology, and on AviationWeek.com

The Project GDZHAO Application For Masters Scholarships On Wetlands Now Open

The Sustainable Management of Wetlands for Strengthening food security and resilience of ecosystems in West Africa-(GDZHAO) has the objective to develop and promote a portfolio of products and services based on the exploitation of Earth observation data in the areas of wetlands in West Africa with sustainable management of food security and strengthening the resilience of communities and ecosystems and are calling for scholarship applications for master’s degree programme.

Requirements 

  • Letter of motivation;
  • Letter of reference from the supervisor or any other supervisor or any other academic authority;
  • Certificate of registration for the 2019/2020 academic year or photocopy of the student card (CNI) or passport;
  • Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages);
  • Copy of the last degree certificate.

Apply for A Post-doctoral Position in Multi-Wavelength Astrophysics within the Centre for Space Research South Africa

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position available with the Centre for Space Research, North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa.

This position is available from March 2020 or soon thereafter, for a period of 2 years (including a 1-year probation period) with a possible extension, depending on funding. Suitable candidates should have completed a Ph.D. in Astronomy / Astrophysics before the time of appointment, and should have a strong record of active publishing and professional involvement in the field at an international level. The candidate should be well-organised, self-motivated, willing to travel; have good writing / oral communication and programming skills.

The remuneration package is market-related, and the details thereof will be discussed with short-listed candidates. Administrative support in terms of visa application and relocation will be provided, but this will not include any financial contribution.

The application deadline is 31st of  October 2019.

Register To Attend The African School Of Fundamental Physics And Applications 2020 Conference

The 6th edition of the biennial African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications (ASP 2020), will take place from July 5 to July 25, 2020 in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Specifically, the ASP conference will take place from July 20 to July 24, 2020.

Members of the International Organising Committee made a site visit to Morocco between April 1 and April 5, 2019. The objective of the site visit was to meet with the Local Organising Committee and to converge on a programme of actions leading towards a successful ASP.

Applications should be supported by the following:

  • CV
  • Statement of interest
  • All university transcripts
  • One letter of recommendation from a university advisor
  • Copy of a Student Identification card

Deadline

Applications are open to science-inclined students from October 15, 2019 to January 15, 2020.
