In the frame of the 71st International Astronautical Congress (IAC) that will take place in Dubai from 12 to 16 October 2020, the International Astronautical Federation invites the public, to actively participate in the discussion by submitting a proposal for the Plenary Programme: Plenaries, Highlight Lectures and IAF Global Networking Forum (GNF), or an abstract/proposal to the Technical Programme: Technical Sessions (TS), Interactive Presentations (IP) and Special Sessions (SpS).
The IAC is not only a Congress, but a gathering of the international space community that, every year, contributes to and shape a different and exciting programme. There are several different ways that you can actively be part of the congress and submitting an abstract or session proposal is part of the first step.
IAC is currently accepting abstracts and proposals for the 2020 Congress in Dubai. In order to guide you in the Submission Process, IAF has put together a guide “How to Engage in an IAC”. According to your status (IAF Members/Non-IAF Member), you will be able to submit a proposal in the corresponding programme category.
Submission notes and important deadlines to keep in mind:
The deadline for submission of Plenaries and Highlight Lectures proposals is the 31 January 2020. Make sure to submit a proposal before this deadline to ia********@ia******.org.
Submission for IAF Global Networking Forum (GNF) closes on 30 April 2020. Submit your proposal to gn*@ia******.org. You can download the GNF submission form online on the IAF portal. Please note that the GNF sessions will be selected and placed thematically on a first come first served basis, and will be divided into three timeslots: 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 60 minutes.
Submission for abstracts closes on 28 February 2020 and can be submitted online on the IAF portal. Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the International Programme Committee on the basis of technical quality and relevance to the session topics. Abstracts may be submitted for oral or interactive presentation. Any such choice is not an indication of the quality of the submitted abstract.
If you would like to propose a special session to IAC2020, you are invited to submit your “special session” proposal to the IPC Steering Group on via the IAF portal by 13 February 2020. The aim of the “Call for Special Sessions” is to include thematic and multidisciplinary sessions in the Technical Programme that could add value to IAC2020. They should include thought-provoking topics, introducing novel ideas and experiences followed by discussions with the audience.
