
The CEO of the Rwanda Space Agency (RSA), Colonel Francis Ngabo, recently received the Ambassador of the European Union in Rwanda, Ambassador Belén Calvo Uyarra, to the agency’s headquarters for a productive and insightful meeting. The meeting aimed to explore and enhance collaboration between the Rwanda Space Agency and various European entities operating in the space sector, specifically focusing on bolstering climate resilience and adaptation efforts in Rwanda and beyond.

During their discussions, both parties deliberated on a wide range of potential initiatives to address the pressing challenges posed by climate change. This collaboration could encompass areas such as satellite technology utilisation, remote sensing, data analysis, and climate monitoring, among other innovative approaches. These joint efforts are envisioned to not only benefit Rwanda but also contribute to the broader global efforts to combat climate change. Furthermore, the meeting also emphasised the importance of knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the sharing of best practices between Rwanda and European counterparts in the space sector. Such exchanges of expertise and technology can significantly empower both regions to effectively mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change, which have become a global priority.
