NIGCOMSAT and TURKSAT collaborates on satellite-based services delivery

The Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited and Türksat company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on the delivery of satellite-based services.
According to NIGCOMSAT, the new business partner—a leading satellite operation with a wealth of experience development and deployment of satellite solutions—have specific expertise in e-government applications and currently operates the e-government portal in Turkey. The delegation from NIGCOMSAT was led by Executive Director, Engineering Services, Engr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, and was warmly received by the Vice President, TURKSAT, Hasan Huseyin Ertok.

A statement released by the Nigerian Satellite company reveals that the collaboration will allow both satellite operators to use their resources and specific expertise to provide new and innovative satellite-based solutions.

The agreement provides a framework for cooperation between the two satellite operators in various areas which include shared satellite ground infrastructure in Africa and Europe, back-up capacity arrangements, satellite communications training, broadcast content sharing, satellite applications development with particular emphasis on e-government applications.
