Professor Teodoro Valente, President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and his delegation team were hosted by Mr Patrick Mariru, the Principal Secretary of Defense at the Kenya Space Agency office in Nairobi, Kenya. The primary objective of the strategic meeting was to deliberate on implementing the bilateral agreement between the two countries and advance and explore opportunities for collaboration between Kenya and Italy.
According to Mr Mariru, the Co-Chair of the Joint Steering Committee for the Implementation of the Bilateral Agreement, Kenya has continued honouring its commitment to strengthening the strategic collaboration between countries and supporting the responsible use of outer space for mutual benefit.
In addition, Professor Teodoro expressed commitment to working with the Kenyan government, underscoring the importance of the partnership. This cooperation agreement will lead to mutually beneficial endeavours in various fields, such as space exploration and technology, increasing the nations’ scientific, economic, and strategic goals.
