InterSAT has announced a partnership with Kymeta and Azercosmos to deliver mobile satellite communication services with Kymeta U8 terminals and InterSAT’s SkyMOVE services across Africa, on Azerspace-2 satellite.
The agreement enables InterSAT to deliver a complete connectivity solution for on-the-go communications with the Kymeta u8 terminal. The u8 terminal includes Kymeta’s software-defined, electronic beam steering technology. In addition, it is low profile and mounts easily on vehicles and vessels for seamless communications on the move.
Kymeta’s antenna technology’s unique position to meet the demand for mobile broadband enables it to provide internet access. This can subsequently be via satellite or hybrid satellite-cellular networks on a user-defined basis. This design will enable connectivity while on the move or on the pause. Combining InterSAT’s SkyMOVE connectivity on Azerspace-2 satellite and back-end support suite of services will give customers an excellent experience.
“This satellite mobility partnership offers opportunities for communication and collaboration in Africa,” said Bill Marks, EVP, Chief Development Officer, Kymeta. “We commit to providing customers with the most modern, reliable, easy-to-manage and flexible solutions to meet their connectivity requirements”. He also added that they were glad to partner with InterSAT as they grew in the Satcom market.
“We are pleased to expand the scope of our longstanding relationship with InterSAT,” added Mark Guthrie, Chief Commercial Officer at Azercosmos.
“With end-markets for high-speed satellite-based networks growing, this partnership is a significant step in enhancing our solution offerings. Being technology-agnostic supports our notion that there is no one size fits all solution for our diverse Africa customer base, said Hanif Kassam, CEO of InterSAT. Furthermore, he added that the unique partnership is another step in enhancing their portfolio.
“We are glad to collaborate with forward-thinking companies like Kymeta and Azercosmos to provide affordable service to our customers”, added Subrata Roy, CTO of InterSAT.
