Twenty-Five Angolan Management Office of the National Space Program (GGPEN) specialists have completed training in Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) of Large Satellites (over 1000 kg of mass). The training held from November 2 to December 3, 2021.
The training modules are according to the needs and challenges of GGPEN in the context of ongoing space activities. Among the various topics, the specialists updated their knowledge on matters related to the satellite integration and testing phases, with emphasis on aspects related to electrical, term vacuum and mechanical tests – fundamental elements to assess the validation of a satellite design.
The training is the result of a partnership within the scope of the ANGOSAT project, between the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), RSC Energia – the Russian company that built ANGOSAT-2 and Airbus.
The training and qualification of Angolan personnel in the space area is one of the goals of MINTTICS and is part of the National Development Plan (PDN-2022).
