The National Space Programme Management Office (GGPEN) and ENDIAMA have successfully launched Tech-Minas, a cutting-edge Earth observation tool that combines satellite imagery, artificial intelligence (AI), and Chat GPT. This innovative technology is poised to revolutionise how ENDIAMA, its users, and partners monitor and map diamond-related activities throughout Angola.

Tech-Minas promises to be a game-changer for Endiama, offering an invaluable tool for identifying and preventing illegal diamond extraction activities. This tool’s multifaceted approach enables more efficient tracking of the entire value chain associated with diamond operations in Angola.

“GGPEN, with its strategic focus on harnessing the potential of the Angolan Space Programme, has once again demonstrated its commitment to serving as a pivotal support system for critical sectors of the Angolan economy, particularly the diamond industry. Moreover, we thank ENDIAMA and all our partners, especially Selina Hayes, Hayes Group International, for supporting this transformative project to fruition,” commented Dr Zolana Joao, General Manager, GGPEN.

ENDIAMA, founded on January 15, 1981, is an Angolan company dedicated to prospecting, exploring, and selling diamonds. Similarly, it operates in the national territory as an exclusive operator and concessionaire in the management of the value chain of the diamond subsector.

As Tech-Minas begins its mission, it signifies a remarkable advancement in technology, a testament to the dedication of visionary organisations, and a shining example of how innovation and collaboration can drive progress in critical industries like diamond mining in Angola.
