3rd African Space Generation Workshop

The two-day regional workshop will bring together students, young professionals and industry representatives to engage and nurture the next generation’s perspective on space and scientific matters in the African region. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with experts from academia, businesses and space agencies through plenary and panel sessions, keynotes and working group discussions.

    Egypt’s TIBA-1 communications satellite is set for launch into space on 22 November on board Ariane 5 rocket from the Spaceport in French Guiana, alongside Inmarsat-5 (GX-5). TIBA-1, designed to remain in service in orbit for more than 15 years, will have a launch mass of 5,600 kg and an electric power capability of higher than 9 kW.

    The African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications has announced the date and location for the 6th edition of the biennial African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications –  ASP2020 will take place at Université Cadi Ayyad in Marrakesh Morocco, on July 5-25, 2020 after Morocco’s proposal submitted in November 2018 was accepted.

    Members of the International Organizing Committee will make a site visit to Morocco on March 25-29 or April 1-5, 2019. The objective of the site visit is to meet with the Local Organizing Committee and to converge on a program of actions leading towards a successful ASP.
