In the press release by Eutelsat Communications, the satellite communication company announced its partnership with du, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) to upgrade its direct-to-home satellite services across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. With this development, du is expanding its capacity at the 7/8° West orbital position. This expansion will enable its media customers to effortlessly deliver high-definition content to viewers, ensuring an enhanced user experience.
In addition, the 7/8° West orbital position covers most TV households in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, presenting the broadest exclusive coverage. With approximately 900 TV channels available from this location, audiences value the extensive lineup. Through the new collaboration with Eutelsat, du can further improve content delivery for its customers throughout MENA, offering increased capacity and an exceptional user experience. This partnership aims to cater to customers broadcasting TV channels in both standard and high definition, ensuring enhanced service quality.
According to Karim Benkirane, Chief Commercial Officer at du, “We are continually expanding and enhancing our services and products portfolio to serve the growing demands of broadcasters and content providers. Increasing our satellite capacity on the 7/8° W orbital position enables our customers to reach more regional end users and deliver more HD and SD services. Hence, we are very pleased to work with Eutelsat to boost our capacity and offer unparalleled reach, flexibility and availability for our customers, making it simple for broadcasters and content owners to succeed.”
