EgSA Hosts High-Level Delegation from the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Dr Mohamed Al-Qousi, the executive president of the Egyptian Space Agency, received the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegates on February 17, 2022, at the agency headquarters. The meeting was an avenue for the two countries to discuss measures to sign a cooperation agreement to develop and use space-based technologies and infrastructures.

The visit was attended by high-level officials, including the executive president of EgSA, Dr Mohammed Al-Qousi; the vice-president of EgSA, Dr Mohamed Khalil Iraqi; Hassan Al-Nashar from the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD); the Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA), Ambassador Rabio Dagari; and the Director of the Expats Affairs Administration,  Mr Theodro Sifia.

In his opening remarks, Dr Al-Qousi expressed his happiness for the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in space science and technology and his optimism for shared responsibility and the upcoming partnerships that this agreement will make possible. He added that the cooperation would strengthen the ties between the two countries and lead to a more fruitful collaboration in other thematic areas.

In addition, Dr Iraqi accompanies the delegates on tour around EgSA’s establishment, which includes a visit to the Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) building headquarters, the agency laboratories, various satellite factories and the latest technology and human capabilities within the Agency.

Ambassador Rabio Dagari expressed his happiness with the visit and his great admiration for the capabilities [human and technological] of EgSA. Furthermore, he added that the two countries would be in close communication and on the lookout for areas of possible collaboration between both countries that will benefit the entire continent.

And at the end of the visit, Dr Mohamed Al-Qousi handed over the space agency’s shield to  Ambassador Rabio Dagari. Amb Dagari also expressed his gratitude to all the engineers and workers of the agency for a visit. Furthermore, he expressed the desire to repeat and activate the cooperation as soon as possible.
