Countdown to SpaceOps 2020 in South Africa

The 16th International conference on Space Operations SpaceOps will be coming up on May 18-22, 2020 at Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC) Cape Town, South Africa.

This conference will be held for the first time on the African continent, in the multicultural melting pot with a rich history, South Africa. As it is known that South Africa is rapidly taking its place amongst the scientific destinations of choice with the science and technology innovations & research it undertakes on a global scale.

The chairman of the local organization committee and representative of the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) in his report said “Visitors will find Cape Town a vibrant, trendy, sophisticated, well connected and stunningly attractive modern city.”

SpaceOps 2020 will not only provide the opportunity to share experiences, challenges, and innovative solutions with colleagues from around the world but also to bring together the global space operations community to address state-of-the-art operations principles, methods and tools.

Held biennially since 1990, the conference attracts technologists, scientists, and managers from space agencies, industry, and academia, and fosters managerial and technical interchange on all aspects of space mission operations, including robotic and human spaceflight, Earth orbit and deep space missions, lunar and planetary missions, and orbital and surface operations.

The previous edition which was held in 2018 at Marseille, France had over 870 attendees, 40 countries represented and 38 exhibitors.
