The Acting Director-General of the Kenyan Space Agency, Major General (Rtd) Thomas Chepkuto, on Tuesday 29 June 2021, handed over the office to the incoming Acting Director-General, Colonel Hillary Kipkosgey. The ceremony was presided over by the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kenya, Amb. Dr Monica Juma and the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Major Gen (Rtd) James Aruasa. KSA hosted a farewell party for the outgoing Ag DG Maj Gen (Rtd) Thomas Chepkuto. In his remarks, the Incoming Ag DG Colonel Hillary Kipkosgey wished the outgoing Ag DG the best in his Ambassadorial appointment.

About the new DG
Colonel Hillary Kipkosgey has a Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Moi University, a Postgraduate degree in Strategic Studies from the University of Nairobi, and a Masters Degree from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
The Kenyan Space Agency was established to coordinate and regulate space-related activities in the country and implement the Kenya space policy and other related programs. KSA hopes to achieve its mandate by promoting research and innovations in space science, technology and respective applications and enhancing the regulatory framework.
