Intern– Remote

Space in Africa is looking to hire interns to expand the team’s coverage of the African space industry. In this role, the successful candidates will help understand key market trends, policies and programs in the African space industry. In addition, interns at Space in Africa engage with industry leaders, write news and articles. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Research and produce engaging, well-written content on the African space industry for publication;
  • Assist with data gathering on the African space industry;
  • Conduct and transcribe interviews with notable executives/officials in the African space industry;
  • Unravel newsworthy stories and contribute to content idea brainstorm for publication;
  • Represent Space in Africa at conferences, events or webinars; and
  • Keep up with up-to-date local, national and international space affairs.

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

  1. Demonstrated attention to detail and multi-tasking;
  2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills;
  3. Excellent written/verbal communication skills;
  4. Ability to work with deadlines and under pressure;
  5. Fluency in French (added advantage);
  6. Knowledge of the space and satellite industry;
  7. Bachelor’s Degree (added advantage); and 
  8. African Citizenship (Required).

Analyst position – Remote

Space in Africa is looking to hire an analyst to expand the team’s coverage of the African space industry. In this role, the successful candidates will help drive understanding of key market trends, policies and programs in the African space industry. Analysts at Space in Africa engage with industry leaders, conduct market analysis, write industry reports and news articles. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business opportunities in the industry
  • Carry out market research, feasibility studies and consulting projects
  • Lead projects, publications and industry reports.
  • Support studies focusing on both government and commercial segments of the African Space and Satellite Industry.
  • Write analytical articles
  • Interview industry executives and government officials.
  • Participate in international and local space industry events and webinars.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with industry leaders, clients and policymakers.

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

  • Must have strong knowledge of the space and satellite industry 
  • 2 years of professional experience in research, market research or consulting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Expertise in interviewing industry leaders and analyzing desk sources such as government budget documents and company reports.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Must be fluent in English
  • African Citizenship (Required).

Sales Associate – Remote

The candidate for this position will excel at creating and closing new opportunities. By using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their expertise to identify and qualify leads, leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers. The Sales Associate will generate leads, hit or exceed revenue forecasts, and ultimately meet customer needs. You will develop a thorough understanding of the company’s products and services, find leads and close deals. The ultimate goal is to win clients, customers, and profits.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales targets
  • Successfully create business from new and existing customer accounts
  • Manage complex negotiations with senior-level executives
  • Build rapport and establish long term relationships with customers
  • Develop proposals, submit bids for public and private projects
  • Identify business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry
  • Research and analyze sales options
  • Evaluate business performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Space and Satellite industry
  • Experience and working knowledge of CRM systems
  • Demonstrable track record of over-achieving quota
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
